Laura Hidaka was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her love for fashion started in middle school, when Laura began to take sewing lessons. Sewing became more than an after school activity. She quickly learned how to draft her own patterns, which led her to design and construct her senior prom gown. 

Laura was determined pursue a career in fashion design. After high school, Laura moved to San Francisco to chase that dream at the Academy of Art University. Upon arriving at AAU, Laura realized that she was in a creative environment where she was encouraged to push the boundaries of art and design. During her time at AAU, her hard work did not go unnoticed. She was selected to showcase her senior collection in AAU's 2017 Graduate Fashion Show and the first CFDA Fashion Future Graduate Showcase in New York. 

Laura will begin her career designing for Abercrombie & Fitch in Columbus, Ohio.
